The Thathangathay Foundation aims to improve the lives of the indigenous people of the Thamarrur region in the Northern Territory through identifying and developing its future leaders.
These leaders will become role models through programs that deliver education, training and skill development in both their traditional culture and the western world. As leaders they will be empowered to make informed choices about their personal future and the future of their people.
With choice comes responsibility, opportunity and consequences that enable people to walk in two worlds with confidence. Knowing the immense value of their traditional aboriginal culture and understanding the realities of the western world, will give these potential indigenous leaders the platform to lead their community to a longer, healthier and creative life.
The Foundation's activities are driven from the inside out with participants chosen by the Foundation's Advisory Committee of representatives from the region's three ceremonial groups. The program engages young indigenous men aged between 16 and 21 in education, skills training, healthy lifestyle and leadership projects. These take place in the Thamarrurr Region, NT and in Bright, North East Victoria.
You can join with us and help the Thathangathay Foundation develop Australia's indigenous leaders. Your contribution will enable us all to make a positive impact on our future and that feels good!
